Jill Mooney grew up amid the bright lights of Las Vegas and finally found her true home in Temple Texas. She realized her passion for art in high school. Jill spent many years following in her father’s footsteps doing intricate wood fretwork.
Over the years, this artisan has gone through many significant artistic changes that include wood crafting, enamel jewelry design, hand-built and wheel throwing pottery. Now finding her true passion in the ancient art of glass fusion. Glass fusion is the “melting” or “fusing” together of two or more pieces of glass to form one beautiful work of art.
Jill is an award winner of the Barclay Visual Arts Competition. Her works of art have also been showcased at the Teacher/Protégé Exhibit at the Cultural Arts Center for the last two years (along with her students’.) She enjoys sharing her wisdom with new artists by teaching regular fused glass classes out of her studio.
As co-owner of A WORK OF ART Studio in Temple, Jill is truly living her dream.
