I was born in a small country town in Sothern California in the middle of the depression era. My grandmother came to live with my parents, 4 brothers and me. She always had some clay nearby. Her hands were magic. She made images of each of the children, really fine images and dishes for my mother. I was enthralled. In my enthusiasm I taught my brothers how to make mud pies, and of course eat them. They were not enthralled. When she moved away from us I was lost to the medium until I attended college. There I found a kindly older woman teaching ceramics. This rekindled my love for clay which is still burning, literally, to this day.
I am the retired Visual Arts Director/Curator for the Cultural Activities Center and have two adult ceramic classes that are ongoing all year.
I am a member of Potters Council
Finding time to get to my studio is my present challenge.
