The Heart of Arts and Culture in Temple Texas.

The Cultural Activities Center (CAC) in Temple, TX, offers a variety of artistic and educational classes designed to inspire creativity for all ages. From painting, drawing, and ceramics to theater, dance, and music, the CAC provides hands-on learning experiences led by skilled instructors. Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore a new hobby or an experienced artist wanting to refine your skills, there’s a class for you. With programs for both children and adults, the CAC is committed to fostering artistic expression and lifelong learning in the community. UPCOMING Classes

Advanced Ceramics with Paul Grimm

This is an advanced clay class that welcomes students that have taken at least 3 CAC Instructor lead clay classes. Practice advanced wheel throwing techniques and slab building techniques.

Beginners Tap Class

No experience necessary for this Beginner Tap Class. Designed for learners of all ages, classes include structured lesson plans, tap dance instruction and demostrations. Participants need to bring to class tap shoes and/or hard soled shows suitable for tap, a waterbottle, comfortable clothing for ease of movement.Class needs to have at least 4 enrollments to make, these numbers will be reviewed April 7, 2026. If enrollment number arent met, we may reschedule to accommidate more enrollments.

Beginning Clay with Amy (May – June)

This is a beginner course in clay. Amy will cover the basics of slab work, wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing. This class session is 5 weeks long, meeting on Saturday afternoons 12 PM – 2 PM. Enrollment includes clay, glazes, and kiln firings.A minimum of 3 enrollments for this class to make.

Fused Glass: Suncatchers or Yard Art

Come creates a beautiful sun catcher or yard art using fused glass.

Mad Science Workshop: Splash into Summer

Embracing the theme “Splash into Summer” campers will explore science experiments that harness the power of water. Supplies included in fee. Camp needs 10 campers to register by June 1.

Mad Science Workshop: Wicked Themed Experiements

Come explore Wicked Themed experiments with Mad Scienctists! Supplies included. This workshop needs 10 registrations by July 17th or there is a risk of cancellation.*This workshop compliments the “Wicked 1 & 2” -Sing-a-long double feature planned at 1 PM and 4 PM on July 25, 2026.

Monet Master Study

Join Spencer Welch for a master class that focuses on Monet’s Water Lilies. Taking an indepth look at the techniques and approaches to Impressionism made popular by Claude Monet. 

Play in the Clay – May

Come enjoy a laid back experience with clay as you learn some basics in handbuilding. Class includes clay, kiln firings, and glaze.

Pottery With Durinda: Hand building (May – June)

These classes are for beginner through intermediate clay students. In these classes Durinda will teach techniques in Hand building.  The class sessions are five weeks long, meeting on Tuesday evenings.  Take home something beautiful for use in your home or as a gift for someone special. ​Maximum of 5 Students on the wheel.  Please call our office for registration questions 254-773-9926.

Pottery with Paul: Wheel (May – June)

These classes are for beginner through intermediate clay students. In these classes Paul will teach clay techniques in intro to wheel throwing.  The class sessions are five weeks long, meeting on Tuesday evenings.  5 pottery wheels are available for use in the studio.  If you have prior experience and wish to work independently, students are welcome to explore hand building.  Take home something beautiful for use in your home or as a gift for someone special. ​Maximum of 5 Students on the wheel.  Please call our office for registration questions 254-773-9926.
